Rosina Wachtmeister - The artist
Known as “Die Katzenkünstlerin” (The Cat Artist), Rosina Wachtmeister’s signature pieces include her uniquely designed, multi-colored, crescent-faced cats.
His designs are featured on a variety of products, from porcelain statues and sculptures to home decor, games, puzzles, calendars, and many other items.
Rosina was born in Vienna and grew up near the lush green valleys, mountains and calm waters of Lake Attersee in Austria.
At the age of 14, her parents, her father a doctor and her mother an architect and ceramist, decided to emigrate to the exotic country of Brazil, where Rosina and her younger sister attended a German school.
growing up Rosina decides to lay the foundations for her artistic career and decides to study at the Academy of Fine Arts, sculpture and scenography.
It was Rosina's first great love that led her to move to Capena, Italy, where she still lives today and where she lovingly takes care of her beautiful 5-acre garden full of plants and animals of all kinds.
Today Rosina enjoys making sculptures in wood or concrete, spends quality time in her garden and wishes those dear to her “health and happiness”.
